Welcome to Honors Chemistry

Hello!

I am Dr. Matthews and I wanted to personally welcome you to Honors Chemistry. As you progress through this course, you will be able to better understand the natural phenomena that you observe every day and also the science related stories in the news media.

In order to be successful in this course you will need to be prepared before you come to class. Regular attendence in my class is expected because if you aren't present you will quickly fall behind in the course. If you aren't able to come to class you are expected to make up the material on your own time before the next class begins. You are expected to complete all reading assignments and to complete all homework problems. You can't learn chemistry just by attending class. You learn chemistry by taking notes in class and completing HW problems.

I am here to help you be successful in my course. Tutoring is offered in chemistry after school on a regular basis. If you need help with the HW assignments feel free to ask questions in class or attend a help session.
